Message - You have entered an empty value

Applies to TestComplete 15.73, last modified on March 04, 2025

TestComplete displays this message when you enter an empty value in a cell while editing data in the DBTable Element editor. It asks whether you really want to do this. If you confirm the change, TestComplete will set an empty string as the cell’s value and will change the type of the cell’s column to string.

This change can affect the comparison results in the future if the column stores region-specific data like date, time or floating-point numeric values. TestComplete will treat the column’s data as strings and will compare it by using string comparison operators. For example, dates in the US format (like December 25, 2015) will differ from dates in the German format (25.12.2015).
