Running Tests on Operating Systems with Different Security Settings

Applies to TestComplete 15.63, last modified on April 10, 2024
Information in this topic applies to desktop and web applications.

Windows Vista, Windows 7 and later operating systems provide a new security level, which is higher than it used to be in previous versions of Windows operating systems. When creating and automating tests that will be run on multiple operating systems, you need to take into account privilege level of TestComplete and tested applications.

If the TestComplete privilege level is lower than the privilege level of the tested application, TestComplete will not be able to access it. For detailed information on required privilege levels and permissions required for testing on Windows 7 and later operating systems, see Using TestComplete With Administrator Privileges.
