The GetMem procedure allocates a memory block of the specified size.

Description
Allocates a memory block specified by the Size variable. The address of the specified block is specified by the Var parameter.
Parameters
The procedure has the following parameters:
Var
Returns the address of the allocated memory block.
Size
Specifies the size (in bytes) of the allocated memory block.
