Configuring the License Manager From Remote Computers

Applies to TestComplete 15.70, last modified on December 17, 2024

This page refers to key-based licenses — a legacy license type used in TestComplete until version 15.48. For information on the current, ID-based license type, see SmartBear ID-based Licenses.

To configure the License Manager, you use the Sentinel Admin Control Center. To launch it, you should open the URL http://localhost:1947 on the License Manager PC. This means you must have physical access to this PC.

In some cases it is more convenient to work with the Admin Control Center remotely. One of the ways to do this is to connect and work with the License Manager PC via the Remote Desktop Connection.

Another variant is to configure the Admin Control Center so that it allows access to its pages from remote computers. To do this:

  1. Go to the License Manager PC.

  2. Open the http://localhost:1947 URL in a web browser. This will launch the Admin Control Center.

  3. In the Admin Control Center, select Configuration from the left-side menu. This will open the configuration page.

  4. On the Basic Settings page select the Allow Remote Access to ACC check box. This will make the settings available for remote configuration.

If needed, you may protect access to the Admin Control Center pages with a password. See Protecting Access to License Manager Settings With Password.

  5. Click Submit to apply the changes.

Now you can access the Admin Control Center from any computer in the local network.

To open the Admin Control Center from your computer, launch your web browser and open the following URL in it:

http://License_Manager_PC_Name:1947
