The upgrade process differs depending on whether the TestComplete version you are upgrading to is an update for the current version or a newer major version.

To install an update for the current version, you can install the new version over the existing installation. The installation program detects your existing TestComplete installation and updates the necessary files. You customized TestComplete settings and the licensing information is preserved in this case.

To upgrade to a new major version, you need to uninstall the existing installation and then install the new version. For uninstallation instructions, see Uninstalling TestComplete.
