This topic provides a list of UI options (backup, autosave, look and feel, item ordering in a tree, and so on) and their descriptions.
To access the UI options:

Click
on the ReadyAPI toolbar. -
Select UI in the left part of the ReadyAPI Preferences window and configure the necessary options.
The available options and their descriptions are in the table below.

| Close projects | If selected, all the projects are closed at startup to reduce the startup time and lower memory consumption. |
| Show test step editor | If selected, ReadyAPI opens the test step editor when a new test step is created. See Test Steps. |
| Sort projects | If selected, projects are sorted in the Navigator in the alphabetical order. |
| Sort services | If selected, services are sorted in the Navigator in the alphabetical order. |
| Sort REST resources | If selected, REST resources are sorted in the Navigator in the alphabetical order. |
| Sort requests | If selected, requests are sorted in the Navigator in the alphabetical order. |
| Show descriptions | If selected, ReadyAPI shows descriptions when they are available. |
| Save projects on exit | If selected, ReadyAPI automatically saves all the projects on exit. |
| Create backup | If selected, ReadyAPI creates a backup copy of the project file before saving it. |
| Backup folder |
The directory to store backups. Default value: the relative path to the project directory. |
| Autosave interval |
Sets an interval for automatic saving of projects, in minutes. This option is applied only to projects in which no tests are running. Enter 0 to disable automatic saving.

| Enable the Groovy log | If selected, ReadyAPI keeps the Groovy log active during load testing. |
| Normalize line-break |
If selected, then, when saving your projects, ReadyAPI will use line breaks that are specific to your operating system. Default: Selected.
We would recommend that you enable this setting if you add your project to a Git repository. The setting will make the project files more friendly to the “auto-merge” feature of Git. |
| Size of raw response message to show, B | Sets the size of the raw response message to show (in bytes). See Response Raw View. |
| Size of raw request message to show, B | Sets the size of the raw request message to show (in bytes). See Request Raw View. |
| Wrap content in Raw message viewers | If selected, ReadyAPI wraps the content of requests and responses in the raw message viewer. |
| Disable message on data source creation | If selected, the message that informs you about automatic generation of parameter values for requests is not displayed when you add a data source. |
| Disable usage statistics | If selected, no usage statistics are collected. |
| Do not notify about the use of Property Expansions | If selected, the message informing you about property expansions is not displayed. |
| Workspace type | Defines the workspace mode: either Tabbed or Single Panel. |
| Minimize button |

| Undock button |

| Tab sizing policy | If selected, keeps the tabs the same size unless they are manually resized. |
| Color blind mode | If selected, enables the color-blind mode. |
