Digest authorization is similar to basic authorization. The only difference is that when you use digest authorization, the credentials are sent in an encrypted form.

After adding a digest authorization profile to a request, you can edit the settings.

Configuring Digest Authorization

To configure digest authorization, specify the following settings:

  • Username – The username to be used for authorization.

  • Password – The password to be used for authorization.

  • Domain – Optional. The domain name to be used for authorization.

  • Pre-emptive auth – Specifies if ReadyAPI will wait until an authorization challenge is received to send the credentials. The parameter has the following options:

    • Use global preference – Use the settings defined in the HTTP Settings global preferences.

    • Authenticate pre-emptively – For this request only. Do not wait until an authorization challenge is received to send the credentials.

  • Incoming WSS – Optional. The Incoming WS-Security configuration to be used for decrypting and validating incoming SOAP responses.

  • Outgoing WSS – Optional. The Outgoing WS-Security configuration to be used for processing outgoing SOAP requests.
