Filters Options

Applies to LoadComplete 4.97, last modified on May 20, 2019

Options in this dialog control traffic filters that LoadComplete uses during the scenario recording.

To call the dialog:

  • Select Tools | Options from LoadComplete’s main menu. LoadComplete will display the Options dialog.

  • Choose Recording | Filters from the tree on the left of the dialog.

Note: These filters affect only the traffic recording. To exclude unneeded hosts during the traffic simulation, disable these hosts in the Hosts table of the recorded scenario. To exclude requests sent by an unneeded application, disable these requests in the recorded scenario.

You can configure filters that affect the traffic:

Application Traffic
  • Record traffic of these applications only - A list of applications, traffic from which LoadComplete will record. LoadComplete will ignore traffic from all other applications.

  • Ignore traffic of these applications - A list of applications, whose traffic LoadComplete will ignore during the scenario recording.

To add an application to a filter, enter the application’s executable name (with extension) or the full application name (with the path and extension). To mask a part of the application’s name in filters, use the asterisk wildcard (*).

For example:

myapp.exe

C:\Program Files\MyApp\myapp.exe

*myapp.exe

If you add an application to both application traffic filters, LoadComplete will not record traffic from that application.

Host Traffic
  • Record traffic to these hosts only - A list of web servers, traffic to which LoadComplete will record during the scenario recording. LoadComplete will ignore traffic to all other web servers.

  • Ignore traffic to these hosts - A list of web servers, traffic to which LoadComplete will ignore during the scenario recording.

The list already contains a number of hosts to exclude some unneeded traffic from recording.

To add a server to a filter, enter the server’s URL. For example, www.misite.com or www1.anothersite.com. To learn the correct URL of a server, you can examine the header of requests sent to that server.

To mask a part of the server URL in filters, use the asterisk wildcard (*). For example, *.org.

You can add servers to the Ignore traffic to these hosts list directly from the scenario. See Excluding Servers From Scenario Simulation.

If you add a web server to both host traffic filters, LoadComplete will not record traffic to that server.
