For convenience, you can group API operations into collections, called Spaces. Spaces are accessed via the Spaces link in the left toolbar of the API Exploration window.
Spaces are collections of Protocol/Operation/Server/Path settings. They are similar to a folder of bookmarks in a web browser. You can have multiple spaces. A space can contain both Kafka and REST operations.
From a saved Space, you can re-run API calls with the saved parameters or with updated parameter values.
Creating a Space
To create a space, first go to the Main screen and set up a Protocol/Operation/Server/Path and associated settings to make an API call. Once your operation is set up and working, click on the Add to Space button.
Since this is your first space, you will be prompted to enter a name for the space. If you already have a space(s), you will be able to select from a list of existing spaces. You can then specify an API name and click Add to Space and the space will be created with the operation as its single entry.
Exploring APIs from the Spaces Window
If you now click on the Spaces icon in the left toolbar, you will be able to see your space with the operation that you added to it. From the Spaces window, you can select specific operation; when the operation's settings appear in the API Exploration pane, you can click Send to make the API call and see the results. You can also change parameter values and click Send again to issue the operation again.
From the Spaces window, you can change parameters and adjust the call. However, operations in the Spaces window are not saved when you go to other panes or windows within API Exploration. Also, you cannot save to a space from within the Spaces window, only from the Explore window. |
