Collaborator supports several databases:

Embedded. A zero-configuration embedded database useful for trials.

MySQL versions 5.6, 5.7, 8.0.

Microsoft SQL Server versions 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019.

Oracle versions 11gR2, 12c, 18c, 19c.
For trials, the zero-configuration embedded database is the easiest way to get started. MySQL is the best choice if you need a free open-source database.
The Collaborator server must be able to access your database server via TCP/IP. Collaborator requires an empty schema on the database server in which a dedicated database user can create, alter, read, write, update, and delete objects.
A built-in database migration tool allows you to move between any of the supported databases, so you can always get started on one and switch to another later on.
