AlertSite Dashboard provides an easy way to compare monitor availability and performance over time. You can also view the status of individual monitors by locations and by steps. This way, you can quickly visualize the patterns and trends in your monitoring results:

  • See the results from the last test from each location.

  • See how the response time varies between steps and locations.

  • Identify the steps that generate errors.

  • Determine if an error is only occurring from one location and how often.

  • Understand if errors are sporadic or a function of either the location or time, or both.

Select Monitors to Compare

View Monitor Status by Location or Steps

  1. On the Dashboard, click on a monitor tile and select Compare Compare Monitors.

  2. Under Controls, click Expand locations to expand the monitor’s locations, and click to expand the steps.

Compare Two or More Monitors

  1. On the toolbar at the top of the Dashboard, click Compare Compare.

  2. On the left, select the check boxes next to the monitors you want to compare.

Compare All Monitors in a Group

On the Dashboard, click on a group tile and select Compare Compare Monitors.


On the Groups dashboard, select the group, then switch to the Compare view.

Comparison Mode

AlertSite shows compared monitors in a table that you can sort by the response time or other columns. You can expand monitor locations and steps to compare their individual performance. The date range selector lets you switch between the data for the last 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. The view automatically refreshes for the latest status updates.

Monitor data is displayed in a table with these columns:

Column Description
Actions Expand Locations – Expand monitor locations.
 – Expand steps of a multi-step monitor.
Note: Locations and steps can be expanded only if the monitor has data for the selected time frame. Expanded locations include only those locations where the monitor actually ran during this time frame.
Type The icon indicates the monitor type – web, API, mobile, email, FTP, or network.
Monitor Name The monitor name as specified in the monitor configuration.
Performance The response time over time of a monitor, its steps, or monitor runs from a specific location.
Availability Percentage of successful checks (status 0) of a monitor, its steps, or monitor runs from a specific location. Hover over the chart to see the number of checks performed during each time interval.
Status Last status (success or error) reported for a monitor, step, or location.
Last Run Time The date and time the monitor was last run, overall or from a specific location.
Last Response Time Last response time reported by the monitor, step, or location.
Interval How often the monitor runs.
Settings The bell icon means the monitor has availability alerts enabled. No icon means availability alerts are disabled for this monitor.

Add Monitors to Comparison

Click + Modify Monitors in the top left, then select the check boxes next to the monitors you want to add to comparison. Use the search and filters to find the monitors you need.

Remove Monitors from Comparison

Click next to the monitor name in the left-side panel.

Save Compared Monitors as a Group

Admin, Co-Admin and Power Users can create monitor groups that allow tracking the availability and performance of multiple monitors as a whole. To create a group containing the compared monitors:

  1. In the left-side panel, enter a name for the group.

  2. (Optional.) To make the group private, visible only to you, click the lock icon to turn it to .

  3. Click Save.
